When you have a hectic, full, busy life and all of a sudden it is interrupted and everything stops, because the body, but especially the disease requires it, you start to question what you can do and what you cannot do during radiation therapy<\/a>. For example, one of the most common questions asked is, “Can you continue to work doing radiation therapy?<\/strong>”<\/p>\n

Well, it is fair to say that there is no right or wrong answer. Whether or not to continue with work activity during radiotherapy<\/a> varies from case to case.<\/p>\n

Working doing radiotherapy depends a lot on the patient’s general condition, but also on the type of activity you would be doing. Thus, there is no “law” prohibiting the possibility of working during radiotherapy,as long as it is not a very physically strenuous activity, in which case it would be better to leave it alone.<\/p>\n

Therefore, if you are in good physical and mental condition to be able to cope with the work days and the tumor does not cause too much discomfort, but especially if you want to do it, the answer is YES, you can continue to work during radiation therapy<\/a>. Otherwise, one can safely take sick leave.<\/p>\n

Before making a decision, you should always consult your doctor to find out whether you are indeed in a condition to proceed with a work activity, but also to ask a number of questions related to radiation therapy that may influence this choice, such as:<\/p>\n

  • What kind of treatment will I have to follow?<\/li>\n
  • Will this be the only treatment I have to do or will there be more?<\/li>\n
  • How many radiotherapy sessions will I have to have? With what frequency? How long does each session last?<\/li>\n
  • How long will the treatment last?<\/li>\n
  • What are the most likely side effects with this treatment?<\/li>\n
  • Can I work during radiation therapy?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
